Frequent rubbers used in rollers features and applications

Since the coated rubber contacts directly with substances to be transported, printing rollers can be grouped into six types according to the coated materials: natural rubber (NB), Nitrile (NRB), EPDM, Teflon, silicone rubber and CR.

NR has excellent flexibility, mechanical strength and acid resistance. It is extensively used in devices such as textile, paper, leather and packaging as pressed rollers and metallurgy and mining industries as drawing rollers.

NRB rubber rollers are very suitable for printing, dyeing, chemical fiber, paper, packaging and plastics processing equipment and other applications where aliphatic hydrocarbons are used, for it has outstanding resistance against oils, elevated temperature, aging and abrasion.

CR rubber roller can be often found in etching machine, plastic, leather, printing and coating machines for its good resistance to oils, acids, flame, aging and high temperatures.

EPDM rubber roller is the most popular roller for its good combination properties, including wide working temp, weather resistance and excellent electricity insulation. It has a broad application in printing, leather and other fields.

Teflon rubber roller is especially suitable for coaters for it can withstand extremely high temp, and is equipped with excellent resistance against oils, acids and alkalis, aging, flame and abrasion.
